Welcome:
The Alemannia Society is a German Club, and as a non-profit organization
supports the German language and culture in the Charlotte area.
Additionally we introduce the German culture to the local community.
Alemannia was established in 1975. It is a contact for all German and
other people who are interested in the German language and culture,
and who will move into this area or live here already. It is a place
for making new friends or having discussions about personal or general
issues. In order to do so, we provide information or helpful links.
We provide a variety of activities: the monthly Stammtisch or the
annual Christmas Party are well established. Additionally we are
having barbecue at a State Park; meet at Lake Wylie for a party at the
marina or going on a wine tour visiting the local wineries. Or
sometimes we just come together on a short notice for hiking,
motorcycling or playing cards. Additional events will follow soon.
We also support other German organizations, including but not limited
to the German School, which provides German classes each Saturday from
Kindergarten age on, and the German Church. We also have a close
relationship to other European clubs, especially the Austrian and
Suisse societies.
We
meet every first Thursday of the month at 7 pm
